After getting blown out in the first half against the Cincinnati Bengals, rookie wideout Amari Cooper’s regular season debut drew more headlines from getting attacked by Pacman Jones than for his performance for the Raiders. The entire offense struggling in a day in which Cooper failed to get to the endzone for his first NFL touchdown.
On Sunday against the Ravens, Cooper decided to waste no time in making an impact in his second game. Scoring his first NFL touchdown on the opening drive of the game and going it in style. Taking a pass under pressure from Derek Carr for a long touchdown catch to officially get his scoring career started in the NFL.
Cooper’s catch went for 68 yards and put the Raiders up 7-0 over the Ravens early on in the first quarter. Oddsmaker/online sportsbook Bovada tweeting that Cooper cashed his player prop for receiving yards with just one catch.
Expect more big plays from Cooper today as he is rolling early along with the Raiders offense. In a tough game against the Ravens the Raiders offense need all the big plays they can get, and a big 68 touchdown from their fourth overall pick is a perfect start as the team looks for their first win of the 2015 season at the Coliseum.
